Clear Course Progression
The Academy Program is composed of four Levels: Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Distinguished. Each Level is designed to progressively challenge students to grow. Top-performing students may also be invited to join The Elite Program.
At the conclusion of every course, Coaches will examine each student's skill progression and make personalized recommendations about which course to enroll in next.
Convenient Monthly Memberships
Life is hard to plan. At LearningLeaders, we wish to give every student and family the flexibility to join programs when it is most convenient for them.
Students are able to join LL courses at the beginning of any month and can pause their learning at any time, provided 30-days advance notice is given.
Able to join for 10 months a year? Great! 8 months? Fantastic. It's completely up to your schedule, provided there are open seats available.
Skills-first Curriculum
The Academy Program curriculum is designed to be completed in four-years by middle school or high school students.
Every lesson focuses on critical communication skills in five major skill families: Delivery, Organization, Argumentation, Engagement, and Mindset.
Students may choose between a 'Major' of Public Speaking or Debate. The most precocious students do choose both!
Active Preparation
Students prepare for each lesson by actively learning from one of over 200 unique skills-focused lessons on the platform. There are over 500 gorgeously-produced lesson videos, complete with multi-language subtitles and quiz questions.
Once finished with the lesson videos, students can check their written independent work assignments, which often involves answering guiding questions, writing or revising speeches, or preparing for a debate.
Interactive Lessons
Students join lessons with video cameras on and microphones unmuted for warm-ups and activities.
The lesson review is interactive; the coach covers the materials by asking questions, clarifying information, presenting a variety of examples. Coaches will type on this whiteboard and ask students to take notes.
For any team activities and debates, students are separated into breakout rooms where they can have conversations in smaller groups with coach support.
Reflective Feedback
After lessons, students may receive additional feedback from coaches through writing or through video.
Over time, students build a library of feedback that they can reflect back on to see how far they’ve grown. Every video and piece of feedback is personalized - students know they’re receiving individualized guidance.
Students are asked to write a short reflection on each lesson to fully record their learning milestones. This stage of reflective learning is so often overlooked, but with the LearningLeaders Method, reflection plays a central part to learning.
Weekly Topic Guides
At LL, we guide students to make use of public resources that are readily available to them. But for us, that’s not enough.
Each week, students will receive detailed topic guides and preparation materials prepared by our top-notch coaches.
Students can find all of the information necessary for full participation and understanding of public speaking and debate topics. The LL Library is filled with hundreds of these tailor-made topic guides that are exclusively available to LL students.
Monthly Themed Magazine
In debate and public speaking, it is vital for students to understand a diverse set of topics and extend their critical thinking. LL supports students by preparing magazines focused on different themes every month.
the themes change each month and include topics such as Environment, Equality, Education, Politics, Religion & Philosophy, and Economics, among others.
Each magazine is organized in an engaging way for students of all ages to enjoy, providing readers with background information and guiding questions, rather than giving them all the answers.
