Key Lesson Segments

Coaches guide students through two intense sessions per day.

WARMUP

Here's where you get a chance to speak within the first 10 minutes of the lesson. Shake off those cobwebs. It's showtime, baby!

HOMEWORK CHECK

You want to improve, don't you? Then you better have complete the necessary preparation for each lesson. This often includes writing a speech or two.

LESSON REVIEW

Coach will use the Socratic Method (asking YOU questions) to ensure the whole team has a full understanding of lesson content.

ACTIVITY or EXERCISE

Coach will challenge the whole team to complete a certain activity that encourages teamwork and also helps you practice your new skills.

QUICK BREAK

After 45-60 minutes, your brain (and body!) needs a bit of a breather. Grab some water and a snack or use the washroom. But be back on time. We're about to start the super fun stuff!

TEAM (or SOLO) PREP

Depending on the course, you will either split up into teams (for debates) or work on your own (for speeches). Coaches are around the entire time to guide you and help you get ready.

DEBATE OR SPEECH

This is the moment you've been waiting for! Put your newly-learned skills to the test in an exciting and competitive debate or practice public speaking round. It's your time to shine!

EXPERT FEEDBACK

After announcing who won the debate (or speech challenge), Coach will share team feedback. Personal feedback might be shared now or for you to view later on the LL Platform if time is limited.

TILT

Coach will ask you what you learned and you can reply with, "Today I Learned That..." This helps consolidate skill progress. Plus - you get a head start on your Reflection Activities!
